Invest North Macedonia support for domestic textile companies

Invest North Macedonia in cooperation with the organizers of the Pure London Fashion Fair, organized a one-day workshop for domestic textile companies interested in getting acquainted directly with the opportunities offered by the UK market, and benefits that the fair offers if they decide to become a future exhibitor at the London Fair.

At the workshop, Michael Richardson, Director of international cooperation at Pure London, detailed the companies for the Pure London and Pure Origin, as well as the possibility of entering the UK market. Representatives of Invest North Macedonia presented the measures for financial support for domestic companies in front of the present companies.

The companies expressed a special interest in participating in the fair in the winter edition of Pure London in February 2020, especially from the section of women’s apparel, underwear and accessories, and accessories, own collections of Macedonian brands.

The Agency plans to perform at this trade fair with a national stand next year with the participation of six companies from the textile sector, in which companies will have the opportunity to generate new contacts that will result in the conclusion of business deals and new partners for cooperation in the UK.

Business delegation from Turkey visits Macedonia

Invest Macedonia presented the investment potentials of Macedonia, as well as the favorable business climate for starting and doing business in front of a business delegation from Turkey from the Macedonian-Turkish Business Council within the framework of the Foreign Economic Cooperation Committee (DEIK). The business forum was held in the Macedonian Chamber of Commerce.

Macedonian and Turkish companies presented potential opportunities for cooperation, as well as an opportunity for starting a new business.

Turkish businessmen already target the potential for cooperation in the metal industry and energy, construction, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals and tourism. Turkish companies as investors are present in a significant number in the country in the banking sector, construction, traffic, medicine, tourism.

Аs a conclusion of the meeting it was pointed out that Macedonia could be the starting point for the development of Turkish businesses and investments in the entire region, also that Turkey is important for Macedonia as the first destination through which it can penetrate the markets in the countries of the Middle East.

In addition to the business meeting, activities are planned as a direct visit to companies with Turkish capital, as well as meetings with government officials in order to increase the cooperation and open new opportunities for connecting companies and businesses between the two countries.

The total trade between Turkey and Macedonia in 2018 increased by 14.5% compared to 2017. Exports increased by 8.5%, while imports in 2018 increased by 15.9% compared to 2017. Last year, Turkey is the eighth trading partner in the foreign trade of the Republic of Macedonia.

This meeting is the basis for increasing the economic cooperation and encouraging the investment activities between the two countries, besides there are many similarities in the culture and tradition of the countries, hence there is a good basis for deepening another type of cooperation between the both countries.

Invest North Macedonia at the largest ICT AngaCom Exhibition and Conference 2019

With the direct support of domestic ICT companies for their presentation and finding potential business partners from Europe and beyond, Invest North Macedonia participated at the largest AngaCom Exhibition and Conference 2019 ICT Industry event held in Cologne, Germany.

The broadband, media and internet fair was launched on 4th June with a record number of over 500 exhibitors – companies participating in the fair around the world as well as 21,700 visitors until 6th June when the event ends.

Within the national stand under the logo of Invest North Macedonia was provided space for holding B2B meetings of representatives of the Agency, domestic companies participating in the fair with representatives of leading European and world companies from the ICT industry presenting favorable business environment and conditions for investing in one of the fastest growing industries in the country.

The ANGACOM conference on broadband, television and the Internet was held within the fair, attended by more than 180 speakers and presenters by holding four different summits: The International Content Summit, the International CTO Summit, the German Broadband Summit and the German Media Summit.

The CEO, Vullnet Ademi stated: Invest North Macedonia stand was one of the most visited and part of the foreign companies with whom the initial contact was realized last year had the opportunity to inform and schedule a visit to the country this year to finalize of their decision to invest and to find their own partners for cooperation.

Textile opportunities presented at Munich Fabric Start in Germany

Invest North Macedonia for the second time organize a national stand for presenting the investment potentials of the domestic textile industry at the Munich Fabric Start fair, which is taking place from 3rd to 5th September in Munich, Germany.
MUNICH FABRIC START is one of the leading international trade show for textiles and accessories. More than 1.000 international suppliers from 40 countries, including many renowned fabric and accessories manufacturers, present some 1.800 collections in Munich. They offer the textile and fashion industry a broad, strong portfolio to source for the new season. There are more than 20.300 visitors to Munich from across Europe, including buyers and designers for the most influential retailers and fashion brands.
At this year’s fair participate nine domestic textile companies which produce men’s and women’s clothing, underwear and heavy wear, as well as fashion and corporate clothes: Astibo Fashion Group, Albatros, Danitex, EAM, Eurosolid, Kuli, Metas, Okiteks and IST Komerc Sanda.

“Our presence at this fair only confirms the support we provide to domestic export-oriented companies with a particular emphasis on the textile industry. This event is a great opportunity to connect domestic companies with other companies from Western European countries, in order to increase the export of domestic textile products, find partners – suppliers, increase GDP and reduce the number of unemployed.We will working for providing the conditions and find ways to support the export growth of domestic companies from different target sectors” – stated Arben Vila, CEO of Invest North Macedonia.
