Regional Cooperation as a Key to Economic Development: Invest North Macedonia at the International Fair in Tirana!

The Director of Invest North Macedonia, Refik Xhemaili, participated in the Regional Cooperation Conference organized as part of the 30th International Fair in Tirana on November 6, 2024.
At the panel titled “Cross-Border Trade: Opportunities and Challenges in the Balkans,” he highlighted:
  • The importance of cross-border cooperation for shared economic development in the region.
  • Positioning the Balkans as a strategic trade bridge between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
  • The benefits of CEFTA membership, including enhanced access to regional markets, reduced tariffs, and alignment with EU standards.

In his address, Director Xhemaili also outlined key challenges and potential solutions to advance cross-border cooperation through:
  1. Digital transformation for more efficient and streamlined trade.
  2. Green logistics for sustainable transportation.
  3. Continuous investments in infrastructure to improve regional connectivity.
In the closing part of his speech, the Director called for strengthened collaboration, emphasizing that integration and partnerships are crucial for unlocking the economic potential of the Balkans. With robust regional cooperation, the Balkans can become a thriving hub for trade and investment, benefiting the entire region. He expressed confidence that through strategic efforts and dedication, the Balkans will position itself as a dynamic and prosperous trading region with significant influence on the global economy.
